I’m a hipster gal who received a camera for Christmas not knowing how huge it would impact my career. I’m obsessed with plants, puppies, and coffee shops. I’ve been keepin’ it real since 1996. Read on for the rest!

At the age of 17, I received a very shocking gift at Christmas from my parents, a camera. Little did I know, how huge that camera would impact my career.

After toying around with my first camera for a year, it was time for me to put my big girl pants on (sadly not yoga pants), and decide what I’d like to go to college for. Being young and naive as any 17 year old would be, I had no clue where to start. Before I knew it, college classes were already starting and I was still clueless. After my first semester of college, I set aside of all the preconceived thoughts of being a starving artist and took my first film photography class.

This photography class kicked my butt! I struggled with loading the film into my camera, developing negatives, and navigating in the pitch black dark room! Even though I felt defeated every day in that class, I secretly loved it. Something about developing my own film images made me feel complete and accomplished. I had overcame a craft that I thought was never possible.

Since the day I walked out of that photography class, I knew that being a photographer was not only the right career for me, it was my passion.

For me, receiving a camera for Christmas has grown into a wedding and engagement photography business that I now call, Sara Sue Photography.

I am located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Although, I am willing to travel anywhere in Michigan for all of your photo needs.
